I began playing drums at a very early age.  I had a couple teachers that tried to get me to read drum music but found I picked things up best "by ear".  With this fact in mind, I have developed a way to teach drums to very young children using colors, pictures and teaching them to "feel" the music they are trying to learn.
My drum students learn how to read music but, more importantly, they learn how to feel music and enjoy learning songs that they know and love.
